Continuing with today’s topic of housing in the Philippines this is another design I think would fit in with a good sized lot although minimalistic I am keen to use more open space than concrete for my surroundings. But more importantly showing what can be done with bamboo in a modern way opens up a lot of possibilities for others as well.
The Lamboo Studio Project is constructed from bamboo and although this is on the minimal side size wise as for many e.g. family of 4 its not ideal most people only need 2 bedrooms so adapting the concept to a larger home is easily done. The roof on this studio uses a solar S shaped roof which also assists in cooling the home as well as the panels on the roof providing power.
The main reason I brought these projects up today is I know many people strike off bamboo as a viable product to do with termites, do you ever eat in an AA BBQ? how often do they change the building due to termites? I haven’t seen any replacement work done on it which tells me its more to do with treatment than it is about bamboo not being any good.
