Progress at last in Minglanilla,Cebu!

For years we have been unable to get cable TV, fast internet and generally everything is “too far from the main road!”

Matt WilkieToday though there is some signs of progress, got 10 guys here from Cebu Cable installing cable TV after bringing a new junction box into the community. Helped by the fact several of the numbers also signed up to make it worthwhile.

Globe have got a 5mb internet cable coming in on Thursday after surveying the distance from the road as well as going through the process of doing the paperwork, submitting the paperwork, guy out to survey, calls from Manila to check we want the internet and for proof of income.

All is well in Minglanilla as things start to come together. Adding to that within the next 3 weeks the construction of the new office building will also be complete and with it the beginning of the new job creation project. I am looking to begin building up a BPO company from there initially with the 5mb internet as mostly the work will be data entry. But later on combining possibly four 5mb lines to handle telephone traffic. Why 4? Because I don’t believe there is any danger of a 100mb pipe ever hitting Minglanilla in the next 10 years. So will need to assess the connections speeds and clarity of calls and work out the ratio per staff and just multiply it by the workload.

But more importantly it will bring more jobs to Minglanilla as well as hopefully help my overseas projects when I am abroad by having a support hub back in Minglanilla.

Biting the bullet a bit this month as we have managed to get through P400,000 since I arrived back last month so will be sorting out the Christmas budget then looking to slow things down a little until around February. Unless the contracts start coming in at a rate that allows for expansion.
