Weekend of mayhem leads to the new outsourcing office getting finished.

Yesterday was a bit messed up thanks to the 10am delivery of the wood flooring actually arriving on Filipino time at 6pm. This was after several calls and discovering the big problem being the suppliers “Christmas party”.

Not being heartless here but the “supplier” only had 3 of the boxes the others were at the warehouse we bought the goods from. They had already moved delivery from Friday to Saturday and now telling us Tuesday at the earliest.

This resulted in “when did this become my problem?” which threw things into confusion at the store and eventually a supervisor went to the supplier and collected the rest of the flooring.

I know it may sound a bit stern but people seem to assume disappointment here and would have gone “ok” rather than arguing with the store to get the delivery “they promised”. Because this end I had arranged workers round the floor including the doors going in before so that everything was done one job after another in synch. End result I spent today painting and now about to do the flooring myself as the workers don’t work on Sundays.

Little bit of extra work but a big thank you to BBC radio on the internet as I have managed to listen to them all day while working which seems a bit like the old days working in the UK. If the roosters weren’t making their usual noises in the background it could quite easily be the UK.

All in all though the office is nearly finished, just took a break to wash the brushes, do a blog update and have some water before starting on the floor.
