Tubod Springs Minglanilla

Tubod(Springs) Resort Minglanilla, Cebu

1

2 Tubod is a small resort out towards the hills of Minglanilla Cebu.

Location I found the trek to the resort a bit of a pot hole road around 1 mile from the main coastal road. Not ideal for older travellers or pregnant women. Its not near the beach and if your expecting the white sands your talking 2 hours ride by car. But on the good side its not too far from Cebu city approx 30mins but it does mean your out of the pollution of the smog and get some beautiful views of hills. The road upto the location also passes many of the "local" type houses made from wood and also a small chapel. I have other photos of this anyone interested just drop me a msg and I will email them over.

Rooms rates are reasonable and the room quality was fair. I booked a double room (pay per room not person) for around $32 a night but there are discounts available after 10 days (at that time which was 10% off the bill). Room came with aircon, Satellite Tv, room service. The room was clean but most days had to call room service to have the room cleaned and sheets changed as they would leave it otherwise.

Resort Facilities 2 nice pools and a childrens pool. A life guard was also there. There is a bbq area for Lechon and the staff would have this cooked for you. The cafe at reception and food was pretty poor. Coffee was also powdered which is the same in most places so strongly advise taking your own if your a keen coffee drinker like me. The internet was dial up and at that time totally useless drank a cup of coffee waiting for a webpage to open. The staff were generally helpful although in one case while I was waiting for a webpage to load they did disconnect me on purpose so they could use the line (although didnt ask). I also booked a trip for my wifes family and were visited by a couple of her cousins while we waited for the L300 minibus for which the hotel charged us P100 for visitors which is the first time ive ever been charged for people at my hotel room.

General the resort was clean and tidy, a few nights you would find partys outside for weddings, graduations etc. But the noise was minimal and also school trips during the day for swimming. This also was minimal. Depending on how you like your holiday. I had no disruptions from other guests that bothered me. Would I use the hotel again... possibly for friends visiting purely because I have visited other resorts in the area (not all!) but found this one was quiet most of the time and pretty secure and clean.

Where to eat I would avoid the hotel food unless your really hungry. If you took a tricyle down to the main road hook a right to AA BBQ you can have some good seafood and chicken be wary of drinks with ICE in any bar or restaurant unless you have a cast iron stomach a little bacteria can go a long way to ruining your trip. From the main road you could also hook a left and head into Tubanok to Gaisano Fiesta where you will find many restaurants and also a food hall.

Things to do Minglanilla "town Proper" is less than 10mins away by grabbing a tricycle then multicab (small bus generally a converted suzuki pickup). Here there is a food market and some stalls aswell as "Jolly Bee" which are Mcdonalds biggest rivals in the Philippines and food is not only cheap but generally tastes good. There is also a beach that is around 15mins if you keep heading down through the town but advise getting someone who knows where it is to take you the picture below is of this
