Political Unrest in the UK

Permalink 10:50:49 am, Categories: News

Ive been back around a month and ohh boy has the place changed! When I left in November people were grumbling about the influx of immigrants and migrant workers in the UK. Now some of you maybe shouting racist!! but its nothing to do with that but economics.

A traditional British family 2.5 kids 2 parents house mortgaged and expensive and increasing fuel prices and food prices.
Husband Salary - Approx £1000 after tax
Wife part-time salary - £400 after tax
Monthly rent/mortgage £-500
Monthly food bill £-300
Monthly fuel expenses £-100
Monthly car running £-160
Monthly clothing etc. £-160

INCOME £1400
OUTGOING £-1220
Leaving £180 for emergencies etc.

Polish or other Eastern European worker

Shared house Approx 6 males
maybe working 2 jobs - £5000 per month min
Monthly rent - £500
Monthly food bill - £300
Monthly fuel expenses - £100
Monthly car running (shared) - £160
Monthly other expenses - £160

INCOME - £5000
OUTGOING - £-1220
Leaving - £3780

Which OK they are working hard for their money like everyone else BUT this is where the problem lies..
A British family lives here 24/7 all year round. Houses have shot up in value due to the demand on property with the influx of people. Which means that if you are the average British person wanting to buy
a house you are now priced out the market generally.
BUT if you are Polish etc. You are building or buying back in Poland where the pricing is much cheaper and eventually will return home. Which to me
is fine because im doing the same in Cebu.
The problem is the volume of numbers of people have effected the economy. I am normally picking jobs but now im scrapping around for one. Although while writing this ive hit a golden job so sort of puts this out the window..lol I have been in the factories where the backbone of British Industry once existed and to find out that for example the shift I worked last night is 3/4 immigrant population on my shift when I know how hard it was for me to find work and also the fact that a lot of the wages have not gone up in line with inflation and in some cases have dropped to minimum wage it makes me wonder when this will end. I feel sorry for
my fellow British manual workers because the government makes it harder each year for these people to have a voice, and also to live. Its not racism or even annoyed at other races. It is down to Labour Government only which has pretty much sold out the British people as a whole. The only ones that benefit from this type of system are the wealthy.

Why I know everything

Permalink 10:20:35 am, Categories: Road to self-sufficiency.

Some people may assume I have all the answers to problems and businesses but I like you know what I know. But the collective of people that will eventually take this site from a site to a community will have at least a lot of the questions answered.
A lot of the world forgets people as they get older but regardless of old or young you are all welcome here. This isnt just a site but a home.. bit more like a front room than a monitor and keyboard. I want people to get to share knowledge and help each other. Ive noticed on a lot of sites they are operating as individuals. But this seems crazy especially when it comes to living in a new country. Yes you may have a wonderful recipe for a dish but are you really going to be effected if you swap a receipe with a expat on another island or are you both going to benefit? Thats the sort of questions I want people to start asking. Its very easy to function as an individual and many expats including me like to distance themselves from the West. BUT you still need help in some form and the stronger the community the better it is for everyone. I dont have all the answers but you reading this have some already that I dont.. so get on the forum and start sharing :)
